October 25th was a big day, as the application from the Tumbler Ridge Aspiring Geopark Steering Committee for admission to the Global Geoparks Network was formally sent to the UNESCO offices in Paris, France. If the proposal is favourably received, it will lead to a site visit in the summer of 2014, and a decision in September 2014. Mayor Darwin Wren and Dr Charles Helm were at the post office to celebrate this important milestone in the evolution of the Geopark initiative.
