On May 8th/9th, 2004, the 1st South Peace Scouts hosted the 2004 Beaveree at the Dawson Creek Ski Chalet. There was around 50 in attendance including all the Beavers, their siblings, parents and leaders from Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, and Fort St. John.
The youth built and souped up cardboard cars, applied for driver’s licenses, then cruised Beaver Town. The youth also went hiking, did crafts, sang songs, did skits, saw a magic show, then in the evening settled down to watch Brother Bear theatre style with popcorn and all. After the movie it was off to bed in the tents that were set up inside, only to wake up to more activities, then it was time to clean up and say good-bye.
The 2004 Beaveree was a success and the Beavers of Dawson Creek would like to thank the following businesses for their generosity: Tim Horton’s, Safeway, Dawson Creek Co-op, Panago Pizza, Border Rentals, Steve’s Picker Service, T&S Sports, Tiger Stationers, and Dawson Creek Ski & Recreation.
