The 2007 Tax Notices are in the mail If you have just purchased your home, just moved here or moved here without notifying us of your change of address, your tax notice could be on its way to the previous owner or your old address. If you have not received a tax notice yet please contact Town Hall.
Tax payments may be made in person, by mail, in our mail slot, or at BC Credit Unions. The options for payment include cash, cheque, post-dated cheque, Interac, or EFT payment at BC Credit Unions.
The deadline to pay your taxes without penalty is 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007. Postmarks are not accepted as proof of timely payment. All current tax balances outstanding after this deadline are assessed a 10% penalty. Town Hall will be closed July 2nd as part of Canada Day, but our regular office hours are Monday to Friday – 8 a.m.-12 noon, 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. There is a slot on the front doors of Town Hall where PHOG form and payment may be dropped.
The Provincial Home Owner Grant (PHOG) application is on the bottom of your tax notice and must be applied for each year. If a mortgage company pays your taxes, you still need to apply for the Grant. Homeowner grants may be claimed after the deadline but are assessed the penalty. The PHOG application must be submitted at Town Hall.
