In honour of Library Month in Canada, the Public Library was alive with music and the laughter of the library?s youngest patrons and their families on October 20.
Approximately 70 people joined members of the T. R. United Musicians, Performers and friends for an evening of musical entertainment. Children attended, scrubbed clean and in their pyjamas carrying stuffies and blankets and ready to be entertained.
Entertainment was delivered in fine form by T.R.U.M.P. members, Brian Bray, Blain Maughan, Sue and Dave Thompson with grandson Seven? Crystal White?s piano students performed before a delighted audience of their peers. Leah Peats, having played for eight years, performed ?Marching Pigs?, Lesa Madsen with two years of playing performed ?Happy Birthday? for everyone who has ever had a birthday. Katrina Causa who just started playing in September performed ?Rocket Ships? and Georgia LaPrairie-McManus played and sang ?A Hairy Canary Named Fred? after two years of lessons. Sue and Dave delighted the crowd with several tunes as well as ?Gramma?s Feather Bed!? and ?The Lion Sleeps Tonight?. Brian was able to dig up some old classics, and put a new twist on them. Groucho Marx?s song ?From the Indies to the Andes in his Undies? was a surprise hit, as well as ?Big Kids Scare the Heck Out of Me!?. It was a wonderful musical, laugh filled evening, which we hope to do again soon. Thanks to TRUMP and Ms Whites ?Marmots.?
