The Tumbler Ridge Golf Course has postponed its 2nd Annual Investors Group tournament to September 18th, in an effort to generate more interest, and hopefully see better weather. It is the last tournament of the year for the golf course, and is open to everyone.

The tournament format is a ?Just for fun? 4-person best ball, perfect for all golfers, from experienced to beginner.

Proceeds from this Investors Group golf tournament will go into a Travel Club for the children for 2005, as part of the Summer Reading Program. The program is very popular with both parents and children, and have been in place for at least 15 years. This summer the children in the Reading Club program read an amazing 3,193 books. Total attendance this year was 1,015.

Michelle Burton, our Tumbler Ridge Librarian is working on a program for 2005 that will encompass a world children?s carpet for the library, and a passport program for the kids.

The community will be active participants in this new program through guest speakers representing their own countries. The library plans to display every day materials, arts and crafts from each country.

All of these extras are not in the library budget and are funded and supported by corporate sponsorship and fund-raisers like this one. Please call the golf course to enter – 242-3533. See you on the links!
