Applications are now being accepted for the CJDC/NTV Community Project awards

Creative students from around the Northern Lights College region are encouraged to submit proposals for the CJDC/NTV Community Project Awards.

There are two grants available at $1,880 each for projects with a cultural focus that would benefit the student’s community.

The award program is designed to allow for as much originality, creativity and flexibility as possible on the part of the student. Past projects have included video productions, poetry chapbooks, art murals, art workshops and presentations.

To apply for these awards, the student should submit an application that includes: a clear description of the project, a description of how the intended objectives and outcomes will benefit the community, a detailed budget showing how the award money will be used, and, if applicable, a letter or letters of support from community groups or members.

These awards were established by a donation to the Northern Lights College Foundation from the former owners of local radio and television stations, CJDC and NTV, and is given each year to the project proposal selected by a panel of individuals from the region.

Applicants may contact Donna Kane, executive director of the Northern Lights College Foundation, by phone at

(250) 784-7613 or by email at for further information.

The deadline to receive applications is October 31st. Applications may be sent to Northern Lights College Foundation, 11401 -8th Street, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4G2.
