Creative students from around the Northern Lights College region are encouraged to submit proposals for the CJDC/NTV Community Project Award. There are two awards available at $1,880 each, for a project with a cultural focus that would benefit the student?s community. The deadline for receipt of proposals is December 15th.
The award program is designed to allow for as much originality, creativity and flexibility as possible on the part of the student. Past projects have included video productions, poetry chapbooks, art murals, art workshops and presentations.
To apply for this award, proposal should include a clear description of the project; a description of how the intended objectives and outcomes will benefit the community; a detailed budget showing how the award money will be used; and if applicable, letter(s) of support from community groups or members.
Applicants should indicate how the goal of the project is attainable, how the project is relevant to the stated goals and purposes of the award, whether the project fits the criteria of the award, and give evidence of how the project will benefit the College or community.
This award was established by a donation to the Northern Lights College Foundation from the former owners of local radio and television stations, CJDC and NTV, and is given each year to the project proposal selected by a panel of individuals from the region.
Applicants may contact Donna Kane, executive director of the Northern Lights College Foundation, at (250) 784-7613 or by email at email@example.com, for information.
