One of Tumbler Ridge long-standing traditions continues in 2012 with the Banff Mountain Film Festival International Tour coming to town on October 9th. Tumbler Ridge is one of the smallest communities in the world to host this tour.
This annual fall highlight has been going since the early 1990s, and is hosted by the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society. In years gone by it was co-hosted with the Northern Lights College and the Tumbler Ridge Arts Council.
It is a mix of adrenaline-jammed extreme sports, absorbing cultural snippets from around the world, and amazing scenery. The show lasts for two hours, and we try to screen as many films as possible within this period. The precise line-up is only determined in the week leading up to the show, but can be expected to cover climbing, skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, adventure travel etc.
