There were three bands that played Friday night at ?Battle of the Bands?. With each group bringing their own style and original sound to the show, the judges were in for a hard decision. Each band played three songs. The crowd was large and enthusiastically supporting the bands.
First up we had Brain Bray introduce the TR Idol Winner Georgia LaPrairie McManus, who sung Downtown beautifully. Next up was the band Linga Sarira, from Dawson Creek who won second place. The prize was $600. They played three original songs, written by the group themselves, and were very entertaining in between sets. This group consisted of Eric Maichaud, Josh Regnier and Scott Owens.
The Delphians were up next. Josh Regnier, Arlen Benn, Dwayne Benn and Spencer Janzen had the crowd feeling their determination to do their best. They had a more subdued look and also played three original songs, winning $400 for third place.
The first place winners were The Stacks. They won $1000 and a six hour recording session at Solar Peace Production in Dawson Creek. This band was made up of many instruments, and their sound went from Rock and Roll to Jazz. They really made you want to get up and dance. The band members were Johnny Stone, Tom Davis, Todd Stringer, Todd Piercy, Mark St. Denis and Mike Davidson.
The night ended with the band Himel. These young stars in the making put on a spectacular show. The band was made up of Eva LaPrairie, Ryan LaPrairie, Derek Wilson, Richard Breaulit and Fred Minnival. All together the night was memorable and hopefully this will bring in even more acts for ?Battle of the Bands? next year.
