BC Arts and Culture Week 2006

In a community rich in culture and with fantastically talented artisans of visual and performing arts, BC Arts and Culture week is a province-wide celebration of that. Arts and Culture Week takes place from April 23-29 this year.

In past years, the attendance for the events has been less than stellar and the repetition of this celebration is to encourage people to come out of their winter doldrums and see what Tumbler Ridge is so artistically prosperous in.

This week long event originates from the Assembly of BC Arts Councils, which is a provincial mother organization that the Peace Liard Regional Arts Council is a member of. Further, the Tumbler Ridge Community Arts Council (TRCAC) is a member of both of these umbrella organizations.

This year TRCAC is pleased to have an increased membership. The roster includes the following groups and organizations. TR Visual Artists Group; Ridge Rippers Quilt Guild; TR Public Library; Citizens on Patrol; TR Ministerial Association; Tumbler Ridge Musicians and Performing Artists (TRUMP), TR Choral Society (Community Choir); TR Arts Show Committee; Theatre On the Ridge Young People?s Drama & Grizzly Valley Players, Mid-Winter Review Crew and Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation.
