BC Arts Week 2004

The kick-off in Tumbler Ridge for BC Arts & Culture Week 2004 begins April 24th. Many events will be taking place that day, with the intention that the good folks of TR will come out and enjoy the best of what the town has to offer for arts and culture.

The following events are unified through the Tumbler Ridge Community Arts Council (TRCAC) and will all be held at the Community Centre. For ?Off The Wall? participants, please drop off your artwork on Friday, April 23rd at the Community Centre.

1)Off The Wall ? Held all day in rooms 4 & 5. Displays of prints and painting from local residents personal art collections. Artwork will remain up for the weekend. Free admission.

2)Free For All ? Held all day in and around the Fireside Lounge. Various arts & crafts displayed and for sale, created by local artisans. Free admission.

3)Cheesecake Cafe ? Held all day in room 1. Come and enjoy cheesecake & beverages, hosted by the TR Library. Costs and selections available on site.

4)?Freezer Burn, A Chilly Comedy? ? 1:00 pm in rooms 4 & 5. Theatre On The Ridge ? Young People?s Drama, performs their final production for the season. Silver donations welcome.

5)Java Jive Coffee House ? 7:00-10:00 pm in rooms 4 & 5. A great evening in a fun and relaxing environment with a variety of musical entertainment, hosted by TRUMP. $2.00 per adult and kids 12 and under are $1.00. Snacks and beverages available for $1.00 each.

TRCAC meets for regular meetings, usually every second Thursday of each month.

Membership is open to the public year-round. This organization welcomes the community?s feedback and meeting attendance so that they can provide the kind of events that Tumbler Ridge would like to see.
