Big Turnout for Local Ski Race

The Tumbler Ridge Golf and Country Club was a hub of activity for the 8th annual Ridge Ramble Cross Country Ski Race held on Saturday February 7th. This great event is put on by the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society as an opportunity for local skiers to get out on the groomed ski trails together. The weather was nice and warm, skiing conditions were very good, and the skiers had a great time. Local ski coaches were very impressed with the number of kids who came out to participate in the race, especially those who were in their first ski race ever. There was a total of 39 skiers, of which 27 were kids age four through fourteen. There were eleven out of town skiers from places like Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and McBride. Race organizers would like to thank the many volunteers, the sponsors who donated money and door prizes, and the friendly folks from the golf course for providing the food and drinks.
