Pat Ferris won the third and final Roubaix Cup race Sunday with a time of 1:01:24 hours for the 26 km Baldonnel ? Two Rivers event. Gary Hilderman was only 8 seconds behind in second and Bob Andrews third at 1:01:59. Jamie Maxwell of Dawson Creek was 4th at 1:07:41, Barb Polehoykie 1:08:48 and Dean Lowry 1:09:57.
Bob ?The Animal? Andrews wins this tough winter, three race Roubaix Cup Series with 13 points and two stage wins.
Last years Roubaix Cup winner Pat Ferris was second with 9 points and one stage win. Gary Hilderman was third with 8 points. Dean Lowry and Barb Polehoykie tied for 4th with 6 points, Pieter Mey 2 points and Rod Lewis with 1 point.
Sunday?s Baldonnel race was held at a balmy -10 and a nasty easterly wind. The pack split after the group hit the first snowy gravel hill. Bob Andrews lead Pat Ferris and Gary Hilderman for the next five kilometres.
Pat Ferris took the lead on the long slippery, fast downhill, and managed to get a gap.
Later, Gary Hilderman caught Ferris and the pair worked together to hold off the hard charging ?Animal?, trying to claw his way back. Hilderman faded on the last hill allowing Pat Ferris to hold on for the win.
