I do not plan to discuss this with Canada Post, or to the huge piles of mail which appears daily from proponents of saving, fixing, or supporting the immense number of projects in various parts of this planet.

Suffice to say that:::I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!

As of today I will be sending the: SAVE THE MARMOT FOLK—-HELPING THE LADIES OF LOURDE S—-FIXING THE KIDS FROM THAILAND

HELPING STARVING HORDES FROM AFRICA—-ENDANGERED CRICKETS IN SPAIN–WOUNDED CATS

BOA CONSTRICTORS IN DIRE NEED–AND ALL THEIR ASSORTED TROUBLED CREATURES ON THIS PLANET A SIMPLE LETTER:

It will contain the following: A thank you for the huge piles of Christmas Cards, stickers for the mail, pretty little things to stick on the letters for whatever season is in vogue, nice stacks of cards, and other FREE GIFTS ENCLOSED ITEMS!!!

To save them time and money the letter will also advise them to remove me from their lists of donors and thus resolve their forlorn hope to entice me to resolve their concerns with yet another donation to their WORTHY CAUSE!

At this time I get about five dunners a day, which usually offer FREE GIFTS (whatever that means other than redundancy!) This will include a sorrowful letter of yet another crippled animal or child from some far off place! Scrooge has nothing on me!

My daughter was once buried in such requests, but solved the problem by saying she would be willing to support their cause if they would only give her a financial statement showing their income for the last fiscal year. To date NONE have responded.

This may be a harsh indictment of what appears to be a concerted effort to extract sympathy from all Canadians with a heart, but, as I have said, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

If you would like me to draft a copy of my response to these daily invasions of privacy I will be happy to comply.

Not that we need more recycle paper to invade our large recycle bins, but, it may mean a bit of respite for the recycle crews!

I trust this will not mean the Post Office will have to suspend (or dismiss) our employees! They do their best to respond to our needs and it would be criminal to make my poor selfish needs a cause for more problems!

It may be the length of winter which has made me despondent, but just possibly it will cheer you up to know you are not alone!
