Celebrating seniors in TR

The Tumbler Ridge Forever Young Society is celebrating National Seniors Day on October 1 by holding a day of activities beginning at 10:30 a.m. and including free lunch and dinner for participants.

We will be celebrating in Rooms 4 and 5 at the Community Centre. Beginning with coffee at 10:30 a.m. and a speaker on prevention of falling at 11:00 a.m.

Lunch is at noon. The afternoon will be floor curling or attending the sessions including a realtor. Dinner will be at 5:00 p.m. You must be a member ($5.00 per year) but you can be any age to participate in all our activities.

“Tumbler Ridge Forever Young Society is proud to pay tribute to seniors on this day, and thank them for the valuable contributions they have made, and continue to make, in our communities, workplaces, and families,” said Ellen Sager, President. “National Seniors Day is an occasion for people in Tumbler Ridge and across Canada to join together as a nation to honour and celebrate this country’s seniors.”

National Seniors Day, which coincides with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons, is an occasion for Canadians to celebrate and appreciate seniors.
