CHAMBER CHATTER

Hi Everyone. I hope everyone had a good holiday, that you got a nice rest and had a lovely visit with family and friends. My husband had to work over the holiday, but we had a nice time anyway, and our phone was very busy. I had a very good BIG book to read which I didn?t quite get finished!!

We will be going away for three weeks, so you will not see me in the paper until February 4, 2009. We are going to visit our Mom?s, the boys and their family?s. Paul, my husband is going to get in some golfing as well, as we are going to Laughlin for a few days with his brother and sister in law. Hopefully it will not snow there again.

The Chamber of Commerce will be having it?s AGM in February, the members will be getting their membership renewals when I get back and all those that are not members will also be getting letters from us, hoping that they will join. We also would like to hear some suggestions of things YOU would like to see in Tumbler Ridge ? functions, workshops, seminars, etc.

REMINDER that there are a number of our Executive and Board Members leaving their positions and we are looking for new people to set up and take a position. We want to keep our Chamber in Tumbler Ridge going forward, and have some very good ideas for 2009. Contact Anthony Boos or Karen Meyer at Cascade Realty, 250.242.9355 or Joanne Kirby at 250.242.2399, if you can help us.

Had to share this with you this week, got it from a friend of mine over the holidays and just thought that this said it all!!.. enjoy life….

?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming — WOW–What a Ride!? — Hunter S. Thompson (1938-2005)

Have a good few weeks everyone, will chat to you again Feb 4, 2009.
