Hope you all had a nice Easter. Paul and I went to see our Mothers, as we will not be able to go for Mother?s Day, plus my Step Dad will be eighty five soon, and we won?t be home then either.

I just finished sending out all the invoices for the Members. It made me aware of how much we have in our Community. Photography, shopping, massages, hair salons, restaurants, take out food, the list goes on and on. For a small location we are very well looked after. I know, I know, you are all saying we need a Dentist, well the District is working on that as we speak; we could use some clothes and shoes, but I think we may see an improvement in that as well when KC?S Dollar Store, Furniture and More get moved, as Christine said she will be bringing in some more clothing.

The Chamber of Commerce was invited to have their last Board meeting at Lakeview Inn and Suites. They have a wonderful Board room there, it has a kitchen, flip charts, coffee, etc. If you are planning a meeting, you may want to go and check them out; beautiful podium, your own bathroom and much much more.

Please remember to mark your Calendar for April 18th, for the Mayor and Council Pancake Breakfast in the Rec Centre. Breakfast will be cooked by our Board Members, the Mayor and Councillors will speak and then there will be a question and answer period. This is by donation only. Donations to be shared with Chamber of Commerce and the Food Bank. Everyone is welcome. There will be birthday cake as well, Tumbler Ridge is 28 years old on April 9, 2009. We are looking forward to a big crowd for this breakfast.

You will get to see Mayor and Council up close and personal often in the month of April. There is The Chamber Breakfast Saturday, April 18th and then on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 there is going to be a Town Hall Meeting. The meeting will be in rooms four and five of the Recreation Centre at 7:00 PM. Mayor White said they will be discussing the Budget and the Strategic Plan, and are looking forward to input from the Community. He said ?this meeting will be an Informative and Informal gathering.?

The Spotlight this week is the Grizzly Valley Saddle Club. You will have to watch in the paper for more up coming information from them as well as read the Spotlight this week. This year is their 25th Anniversary and they are planning a Blow Out Celebration.

For those of you who are not Chamber Members, please stop by the office and find out what we are all about. If your Company uses a Debit or Credit Machine, and you do not get a extra special rate because you are part of a group of stores, I can save you your Membership with our Debit/Credit Machine programs. Plus we also offer Group Insurance through the Chamber of Commerce. They can give you a quote from anything from a Beetle to a Cadillac Plan. You make the decisions on what coverage you need.

I get a lot of email in my office, which I know a lot of you are aware. The other day I got one from a Lady who sends tips on making your Business Better; I thought I would put it in the paper for you. You business people out there may not even think of yourself as experts…but you are…..and don?t forget it.

?You?re an expert in your area – this is a good time to let people know this.

Business down a bit so you have some free time? What better time to write a column, offer to give a presentation or lead a seminar.

All these things will lead to you being recognized as an expert in your field. These activities will boost your credibility and show potential customers you?ve got the scoop and you?re someone to turn to!

Business people want to be connected with recognized experts. They feel better doing business with someone who is an authority. Giving talks and leading seminars cements your name in your field.?

A small boy swallowed some coins and was taken to a hospital. When his grandmother telephoned to ask how he was, a nurse said, ?No change yet.?
