CHAMBER CHATTER

Hi everyone. Remember April showers are to bring May flowers, in our case it?s has just been a combination of snow and rain. I just can?t wait for those flowers!

Well I will start by introducing myself. My name is Dawn Pouliot and I am the Tumbler Ridge Chamber of Commerce?s new manager.

Marie Therriault, who has been the dedicated manager since February 2008, has decided to take on a new and exciting endeavor, starting her own business, with her husband Paul. Marie has done a wonderful job and has been spoken of in so many positive ways for her work with the Chamber, I just hope I can measure up and fit into those shoes. On behalf of all of us Marie, I would like to thank you for all your contributions, and we wish you and Paul all the best with your new business.

The Therriault?s are taking over Papa Joe?s Carpet Cleaning and Marie will be offering bookkeeping services to the community.

The Chamber is proud to present a Provincial All Candidates Forum May 7th, 2009 7:00 pm at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School.

This forum is open to all. Please attend to become more informed on each candidates political platform, and take the opportunity to ask the candidates questions.

The candidates are Blair Lekstrom BC Liberal Party and Pat Shaw BC NDP. This is such an excellent opportunity for our town, do come to the forum to find answers to your questions and make an informed vote for the Provincial Elections May 12. 2009.

Every time we open our wallets to a business, we are saying, ?I like what you do! Keep doing it.? When we shop local, we are saying YES to a strong vibrant local economy that translates into a unique and interesting community.

It is up to all of us to continue to make Tumbler Ridge a better place to live. So please continue to support local businesses, like you did today.

Have a good week everyone.
