CHAMBER CHATTER

As I am working away on the chamber?s newly repaired laptop, I wanted to thank Kirk Fallon from ?K² Computer Repair? for generously donating his time and effort to fix the Chamber of Commerce?s computer. Kirk is a respected and active member of the Tumbler Ridge Chamber of Commerce (TRCC) , so if you need a new computer or repairs on your existing computer please give him a call at 250-242-1055.

Please welcome a new member to the Chamber, Keith Brown from Sun Life Financial. Keith is eager to become an active member of the chamber and the community. For personal or business financial services and insurance needs please give Keith a call at 250-782-4700 or 250-219-2434.

It has definitely been a week of celebrations of new beginnings for Tumbler Ridge!

The Chamber would also like to congratulate the TRSS graduation class of 2009, on their accomplishments. The TRCC gives a scholarship to a deserving student every year, and this year we have chosen Kimberly Cameron. Kimberly plans on taking Early Childhood Development specializing in special needs children. Once her ECD has been completed she plans to open a daycare for special needs children. We at the Chamber would like to congratulate Kimberly and wish her all the best for the future.

I would also like to thank some generous businesses that helped contribute to the scholarship, to bring it to a grand total of $650.00 for this year. Darryl Krakowka from Shop Easy, Melissa Meyers from Cascade Reality, Pasty Shea from Paddy Cakes Catering, Kirk and Nancy Fallon of KNF Enterprise, Bob and Peter Mandeville from Toolbelt Jobs, Benjie Myers from Absolute Instrument and Bill and Laura Woods from Embassy Maintenance.

Congratulations Subway, on your opening, one day earlier than scheduled.

I would like to thank our golfing committee for doing a wonderful job arranging the 2009 Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament this past weekend, well done everyone!

Our businesses support the community in so many ways, so please return the favor and support our local businesses.
