Tumbler Ridge shone this past Christmas. Many families put a lot of work into making their homes reflect the beauty of the season, and for some of them, their work really paid off.
The judging committee for this contest included Jenna Trudeau, Richard Zimmer, Daniel Helm, Esther Walkley and Stephanie Buhler, all part of the Tumbler Ridge Senior Secondary Leadership Council.
The Mayor?s award was given to Claude Belanger of 119 Gwillim. His decorations were very colourful with lots of assortment. Best Decorated House Category: First place- was 167 Valleyview Crescent, Lloyd and Debora Frank, it reminded the judges of a gingerbread house. Second Place- -was 18 Collier Place, Ken and Bev Kellough. Judges thought the outline of the house and the colour scheme were very unique.
Best Decorated Mobile Homes: First place-Mobile Home-139 Meikle-Jean and Diane Bourcier. Second Place-Mobile Home-285 Steeprock-Ole and Tonia Strand.
Best Decorated Apartment: First place-106/108 Spruce-Abram Neufeld. Second Place Audrey Bourke.
Best Decorated Business went to the Twilight Lodge, Fern Iles and staff did a wonderful job and them keeping with the reason for the season. Honorable Mention went to Northern Metalic and Tumbler Ridge Beer and Wine Store.
