DAWSON CREEK – Creative students from around the Northern Lights College region are encouraged to submit proposals on or before February 27th for the CJDC/NTV Community Project Award. The $2,100 grant is available for a project with a cultural focus that would benefit the student’s community.
The award program is designed to allow for as much originality, creativity and flexibility as possible on the part of the student. Past projects have included video productions, poetry chapbooks, art murals, art workshops and presentations.
To apply for this award, the student should submit an application that includes: a clear description of the project; a description of how the intended objectives and outcomes will benefit the community; a detailed budget showing how the award money will be used; and, if applicable, a letter or letters of support from community groups or members.
The award was established by a donation to the Northern Lights College Foundation from the former owners of local radio and television stations, CJDC and NTV, and is given each year to the student whose project proposal is selected by a panel of individuals from the region.
Applicants may contact Donna Kane, executive director of the Foundation, at (250) 784-7613 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Applications are to be received at the Northern Lights College Foundation, 11401 – 8th, Street, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4G2 on or before February 27th.
