November 26: The directors of Renaissance Canada (In Education) Inc. are pleased to announce that negotiations with School District #59 have resulted in ?approval in principle? of our request to enter into a lease to reopen this community facility. This school has been closed for over five years and is not anticipated to be needed in the near future for public school needs. The terms of the proposed five-year lease include provisions for immediate repossession in case of an emergency or a one-year notice of returning the facility to public education. A key point in the negotiations was that Renaissance is required to assume full responsibility for the operating costs and administration of the facility.
The directors are in the process of formulating a plan that will see the facility opened as a training center, plus other activities that make our community outreach possible. We anticipate being able to respond to community not-for-profit groups who may have an interest in using the facility, on a cost recovery basis. We are also developing a plan to introduce training for a wide range of interests, from a Christian perspective.
Renaissance Canada (In Education) Inc. is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization that was registered provincially in B.C. in 2003. Based in ?Tumbler Ridge, we operate with a board of 4 local business and professional men who are committed to providing capacity to support projects to advance our goals and objectives.
