Moose Lake Campground Improvements

At the March 6, 2007 Meeting, Council received a letter from the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts advising that Moose Lake Campground has been selected for a Capital project. The purpose of the project is to redesign the site to make it more enjoyable and provide a safer environment for its users.

STARS Presentation to Council

At the Policies & Priorities Committee Meeting held on March 13, 2007 a presentation was given to Council on the STARS Air Ambulance Service. Mr. Ward Minifie, General Manager for the Grande Prairie office provided Council with information on the STARS range of services, noting that they are very pleased to be able to provide them to the community of Tumbler Ridge.

Canadian Rangers

At the March 13, 2007 Policies & Priorities Committee Meeting, Cpt. Jim Murray from the Canadian Rangers gave a presentation to Council on the history of the Canadian Ranger Program. Captain Murray, along with local patrol leader Jack Wheeler, highlighted the activities of the Tumbler Ridge patrol and spoke to their future plans.

Junior Canadian Rangers

At the March 13, 2007 Policies & Priorities Committee Meeting Cpt. Christopher DeMerchant, along with local Junior Ranger leader Glenn Miller, gave a presentation to Council on the Junior Ranger Program. Cpt. DeMarchant stressed the need for community involvement and support to ensure the long term sustainability of the program.
