March 30, 2007: Bylaw 523, 2007 ?District of Tumbler Ridge Zoning Amendment Bylaw? At a Special Meeting of Council held on March 27, 2007, Council gave the first two readings to Bylaw 523, 2007. The purpose of the bylaw is for Council to give consideration to the rezoning of a 1.68 acre parcel of land located at 375 Southgate from a Future Development Commercial Zone to a Travel Commercial Zone. A public hearing on the proposed rezoning will be held on April 17, 2007 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers.
Review of Written Budget Submissions At the Policies & Priorities Committee Meeting held on February 27, 2007, Council received a report from the Chief Financial Officer regarding the public consultation period for the 2007 ? 2011 Financial Plan. Mr. Seibel reported that there were several residents who picked up the financial information package however there were no written submissions received by the end of the submission period. Mr. Seibel noted that one submission was received after the deadline and the Finance Department has responded to the concerns outlined in the written submission.
The 2007-2011 Financial plan, including the 2007 budget, was presented to Council at the February 20, 2007 Regular Meeting of Council. The First reading was given to the bylaw which started the public consultation process. The three-week public submission period ended Friday March 9, 2007. The public consultation process was advertised all three weeks in the local paper.
Town Hall Meeting Date At the Policies and Priorities Committee Meeting held on March 27, 2007, Council set the date for the next Town Hall Meeting for May 16, 2007. This meeting will be held in rooms 4&5 of the Community Centre at 7:00 PM. All residents are encouraged to attend
