Councillor Glenn Steele has tendered his resignation from Municipal Council. In the letter of resignation Glenn writes ?My work schedule has made it very difficult to attend any meeting or fulfill any duties associated with my portfolio.? Glenn ends the resignation letter with regrets expressing his enjoyment of serving the community as Municipal Councillor and noting that he will miss being on Council. Glenn was elected to Council in the June 2001 By-election and was re-elected in the 2002 General Municipal Election.
Councillor Steele was an active member of Council; he sat currently as Council liaison to the Tumbler Ridge Golf & Country Club and was also responsible for the mining portfolio, community celebrations portfolio and the employee relation?s portfolio. In earlier years Councillor Steele held the forestry portfolio and was the Council representative to the Tumbler Ridge Public Library Board.
The District of Tumbler Ridge would like to thank Glenn Steele for his contributions for the residents of Tumbler Ridge over the past four years and wish him luck with his future endeavors.
