Dad’s Cafe – Worth the Wait

My delicious lunch – chili!. Photo taken with my phone. Lynsey Kitching.

The day many people were waiting for finally came, the opening of Dad’s Café on Front Street. The café’s opening day was November 29.

Different from all the other restaurants in town, Dad’s café offers delicious soups, chili, Panini’s, sandwiches, baked goods and all the treats you would hope to find in family owned café.
Being a new business has brought them a lot of customers and it showed in the quantity of people there during the lunch hour rush to try out the new digs.

This unfortunately caused some waiting for the patrons, who were all demonstrating patience while the server attempted to tend to all the full tables and the people waiting for a seat.
During the wait for my lunch, my eyes were wandering through the menu of scrumptious options and it was difficult to choose the winning dish.

I finally settled on a great option to warm my belly on a snowy day, chili.

When our food finally came, it was worth the wait. My chili was just the right temperature and delicious.

The feel inside the café is very calming with modern decorations and warm colours.

One thing I missed in the ambiance was some music. I imagine some acoustic tunes from the likes of Jack Johnson and David Grey playing in the background completing the homey relaxed feel of Dad’s Café.

All in all I would truly recommend people to check out the new restaurant, but be prepared for a wait until all of the kinks get worked out.

Next time, I’m definitely going to indulge in some cheesecake, yum.
