February 5th ? The Dawson Creek Horticulture Club will be holding its monthly meeting at 7pm at KPAC.

February 3rd to 28th ? The Dawson Creek Art Gallery is pleased to present ?Connections? featuring the fabric art of Edmonton artists Dawna Harrish, Cathy Tom, and Sharon Rubuliak. There will be a public opening for this exhibit on February 3rd at 7pm at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery and everyone is invited to attend.

February 3rd to March 24th ? The Dawson Creek Art Gallery is offering afternoon pottery classes at the new Potter?s Studio in KPAC. Instructor Jen Berkner will be giving an introductory course from 1-4pm on Tuesdays. To register, phone the Art Gallery at 782-2601.

February 3rd ? The Piecemakers Quilters Guild will be holding their monthly meeting at 7pm at CMS.

February 3 & 4th ? Evening Pottery Classes begin at the new pottery studio at KPAC. On Tuesday the 3rd, advanced classes begin and on Wednesday the 4th, the beginner classes start. Classes are 6:30 to 9:30pm. To register or for more information, call Northern Lights College at 782-5251. This is a credit course.

February 6th – 7:30pm at the Kiwanis Arts Centre there will be a Coffeehouse to kick off to the Spirit of BC Communities Week. The Potluck in the Basement Singers share stories and perform some of their favourite songs. The concert is also a fundraiser for the Calvin Kruk Performing Arts and Community Centre. Admission is by donation. Doors open at 7pm.

February 7th & 8th – The Literary Association will be presenting a Spirit of BC Signature Event with their second annual Spirit of Literacy Day. Beginning with a key note speaker on Saturday morning, there will be workshops, demonstrations, the Wow Bus, a Rugrats Rodeo, wind up dinner, and the Potpourri event in the evening, just to name a few of the programs offered. February 7th – 7:30pm at the Kiwanis Arts Centre, Oma Productions, in conjunction with the Literacy Society, presents the 4th Annual South Peace Potpourri. This show has everything: music, dancing, comedy, door prizes, and great snacks at the concession. Doors open at 6:30pm and admission is by donation, with net proceeds going to the Calvin Kruk Performing Arts and Community Centre. There will be several workshops throughout the weekend at KPAC, Northern Lights College, and CCRR to promote literacy in the community. At KPAC on Saturday, take part in vocals, theatre, and drumming workshops and on Sunday, scrapbooking, quilting, pottery, to name a few. February 11th – Kiwanis Arts Centre Society?s regular monthly meeting at noon at KPAC

February 11th ? ?Reel Wednesdays? presents ?Changeling?, starring Angela Jolie in a true story of a woman driven to confront a corrupted LAPD after her abducted son is retrieved and she begins to suspect that the boy returned to her is not the same boy she gave birth to. This show will be shown at 6:50 only at the Centre Cinema. Regular admission at the door is $9.00 each. February 12th ? The South Peace Art Society will be holding its regular monthly meeting at noon at the art gallery. All members are encouraged to attend.

February 14th – 6pm at the Kiwanis Arts Centre, the Dawson Creek Community Band?s annual Valentine Dinner and Dance. This year?s theme is ?Bella Italia?, and features gourmet Italian cuisine. Tickets are $40 each, available at KPAC and from band members. Music provided by the Kiwanis Swing Band.

February 16th – The South Peace Historical Society will be holding its regular monthly meeting at 2:00pm at the Museum.

February 18th – The Dawson Creek Library will be hosting its monthly Seniors Tea at 1:30. Guest speaker, Margaret Sutton will present ?Food and You, How to eat a Healthy Diet?. All seniors are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served by the Friends of the Library.

February 23rd – The Friends of the Library will meet at the Dawson Creek Library for their regular monthly meeting at 10am.

February 23rd – Platinum and gold recording Acappella group, ?The Nylons?, on stage at Unchagah Hall at 7:30pm. Assigned seating available at KPAC and the Art Gallery for $30 each. Sponsored by the South Peace Community Arts Council?s Overture Concert Series.
