May 23rd – The deadline for applications for the 2008 KPAC Scholarship Program is Friday May 23 at 4:00pm. Scholarships are awarded based on proficiency, commitment, and dedication to the performing arts, and anyone 25 years of age and under, living in Dawson Creek and surrounding area is eligible to apply. Applicants are required to submit an audition tape (VHS or DVD format) along with their application forms to the KPAC office at 1100 ? 95th Avenue. May 24th ? The Kiwanis Community Band is hosting their annual Spring Dinner and Concert. Doors open at 5:30pm and the concert begins at 6. Supper will be served at 7, and the menu includes schnitzel, potato salad, and homemade apple strudel. Tickets are $18, $9 for children under 12 and are available at KPAC, the Art Gallery, and from band members.

May 25th – The Mile 0 Quilters and Crafters Guild are hosting their annual quilt show from 2:00-5:00pm at KPAC. Admission is $4 and includes refreshments.

May 30th & 31st – Yoga Workshop, Friday (evening) May 30 and Saturday May 31 at KPAC. Friday evening?s session focuses on meditation and chanting, and Saturday?s session explores the relationship between movement and breath. Yoga instructor, Marion McConnell has presented workshops in Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, and Australia during her 30 years teaching yoga. Cost is $115 for both days. May 13th to June 8th ? The Dawson Creek Art Gallery is pleased to present ?Visual Voices?, featuring the work of three local artists; Dori Braun, Mary Mottishaw, and Mary Parslow.

June 3rd, 5th,10th, 12th, 17th, and 19th ? Dionysus Theatre Company presents The Love List? an adult comedy by Norm Foster. This play will be performed at Sudeten Hall 7pm sharp. All tickets are available at Calla?s for $10 each.

June 4th – Kiwanis Arts Centre Society?s regular monthly meeting at noon at KPAC

June 5th – The Dawson Creek Horticulture Club will be holding its monthly meeting at 7pm at KPAC.

June 6th ? Waterwalker Film Festival – Exciting new paddling films from around the world coming June 6 to the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre. The best of the 2008 Waterwalker Film Festival features canoeing and kayaking action, adventure and environment films. The festival starts at 7pm and tickets are $8 at the door.

June 7th – Yee Haa Comedy Show featuring Singers, Skits, Dancers & so much more. This concert will take place at KPAC , Doors open 6:30, Showtime: 7:30. June 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th – The Dawson Creek Spinners and Weavers will be meeting at 10am at KPAC in the Weaving room.

June 3rd ? The Piecemakers Quilters Guild will be holding their monthly meeting at 7pm at CMS.
