Wayne Rogers, a resident of Dawson Creek for the past 25 years, showed some real Native Nova Scotia Luck when he won $45,000 playing KENO at the Alaska Hotel last week.
He had been using the same numbers for some time until he hit the jackpot. At first he thought he had only won $4,500 because he didn?t have his glasses. He won another $180 on three separate draws, bought a round for the house and tipped barmaid Terri-Lynn who sold him the winning ticket.
He drove to Kamloops to cash in his prize with the B.C. Lottery Corporation. With the windfall, Wayne paid off the mortgage on his house and his car payments.
Who says gambling doesn?t pay off?
