District of Tumbler Ridge Council Recognizes Long-Term Employees

District of Tumbler Ridge Employees Cheryl Hayden and Sean Shea Receive 15 Year Service Awards at a ceremony held at the Tumbler Ridge Golf & Country Club on December 18th, 2006. Chief Administrative Officer Lonny Miller presented Ms. Hayden with her service award. Public Works Operations Manager Clark Hazlehurst presented Mr. Shea with his award.

Cheryl Hayden was employed by the District in 1991 as an Office Assistant 1 in a casual position working her way to an Office Assistant 111 in March 1993. In July 1993 Ms. Hayden accepted the Confidential Secretary position and remained in that position until January 2001 when she was promoted to Administration/Community Recreation/Events Planner. In February 2006 Ms. Hayden became the Acting Director of Community Services until May 2006 when she accepted the present position of Director of Community Services.

Mr. Shea began working for the District as a temporary employee in July 1991 in a Maintenance 1 position at the Community Centre. Mr. Shea filled the position of Maintenance 11 in April 1992 and became full-time in July of that same year. Mr. Shea accepted the Maintenance 2 A position in 1993 and remained there until 1995 when he accepted the Utility 1 Operator position with the Public Works Department. In March 1996 Mr. Shea was promoted to the current position of Utility Operator 11.
