DOC WALKER Hits the Stage

Like many artists that have come before them, the members of Doc Walker are committed to the uniquely Canadian task of doing whatever it takes to build a devoted audience by delivering their energetic brand of rockin? country to the music lovers of this nation.

Whether it is writing new songs in Nashville with proven songwriters or taking a step as a performing entity, frontman Chris Thorteinson (lead vocals, guitar) and his band mates Dave Wasyliw (acoustic guitar, vocals), Mark Branconniew (drums, vocals), Murry Pulver (electric guitar, vocals) and newest member Paul Yee (bass) are to a man excited about what the future holds for Doc Walker.

The Canadian music industry continues to embrace the Doc Walker sound that combines magnetic hooks with instantly identifiable vocal treatments. The three-time past JUNO nominees scored big in 2003 with two prestigious awards, CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) Group of the Year, and WCMA (Western Country Music Association) Entertainer of the Year, an award that is voted on by the fans.

The bottom line is that the band members have come up with a slate of tunes that comfortably straddle musical boundaries, and combine influences. It makes for a unique musical personality that appeals to both dyed-in-the-wool country fans and a younger breed who love to shake, rattle and roll.

Doc Walker will be performing live in Tumbler Ridge this year at Grizfest August 6, 2006. For more information phone 242-4246. Check out Doc Walker?s webpage at
