Registration opening-date for the 2014 Emperor’s Challenge is April 8. The field is capped this year at 1000 for the adult 20 km race. There is no cap for the kids’ races.
In 2013 it took just a week for registrations to close because the cap had been reached. This year demand is expected to be higher. Bottom-line: if you don’t enter soon after registrations open, disappointment may ensue.

Proceeds from the Emperor’s Challenge are plowed back into Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society and other community projects, such as trail maintenance and improvements.
In 2013 a special lottery was held to accommodate some extra runners. This generated $8,300. This was constructively used to enhance the Tepee Falls Hiking Trail, in particular with the construction of twelve boardwalk sections across wet spots.
