The Tumbler Ridge RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occured on Saturday, June 26.
The accident occured approximately two kilometres north of Tumbler Ridge on Highway 52. Killed in teh accident was 32-year-old Gregory Welsh of Grande Prairie.
The vehicle Welsh was driving failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the right side of the roadway, overturned several times, and ended up in a wooded area adjacent to the highway.
A Rumbler RIdge resident came across the scene while riding his ATV. The scene was barely visible from the highway and would most likely not have been noticed by passing motorists. The cause and contributing fators are still being investigated.
