(Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia) ? To assist with the promotion and awareness of ?Fire Prevention Week?, elementary school students in town were invited to develop and practice a home escape plan with their families. Students were given the opportunity to enter a draw at the Tumbler Ridge Fire Hall to become ?Fire Chief for a Day?.
Congratulations to Nicholas Jenkins, a grade 3 student from TRES for his first place finish in the Fire Chief for the Day Contest. As part of the winning package, Nicholas was picked up at his house by fire truck Engine 5 and escorted to the school by Fire Chief Golob. Fire Chief Jenkins then attended lunch at the TR Golf & Country Club and then treated to a personal tour of the Fire Hall. Thank you again, Fire Chief Jenkins, for your organized Fire Escape Plan.
