On March 12, two Tumbler Ridge organizations were honoured at a Volunteer Community Engagement Night hosted by BC Parks.
The two organizations were among the five organizations from around the Peace that were honoured at the event, held in Fort St. John last Tuesday night, recognizing the work of volunteers to improve BC Parks. WNMS president Sarah Gamble was supposed to attend, but last week’s heavy snowfall made the roads too treacherous to risk the trip. “It’s great to be appreciated, but it wasn’t worth risk.”
In addition to the Tumbler Ridge organizations, the Charlie Lake Conservation Society, The Swan Lake Enhancement Society and the Whiskey Jack Ski Club were honoured. The latter group is working on enhancing the ski trails at Beatton Park.
