(Dawson Creek, British Columbia) Global Spectrum Facility Management, the management company that operates the EnCana Events Centre, named Ryan MacIvor, as the facility?s General Manager, it was announced today by Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page.

?Ryan?s experience will be invaluable as the City of Dawson Creek and Global Spectrum Facility Management begin this new venture,? said Dawson Creek Mayor Mike Bernier. ?Ryan has been an integral; part of our community over the past seven years has been a tremendous asset to us opening the EnCana Events Centre over the past year. Ryan has been involved with the planning of the South Peace Community Multiplex since day one.?

MacIvor, who was most recently the Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing for the EnCana Events Centre and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the EnCana Events Centre, including the booking, scheduling, financial review, marketing, public relations and maintenance of the multi-facility complex. His official start date is Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Ryan takes over from Gunnar Fox, who has been the General Manager of the EnCana Events Centre for the past year and three months and is being transferred to the Santa Ana Star Centre in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Global Spectrum Facility Management has been awarded the contract to take over management of the three year old 7000 seat Facility. ?I really enjoyed my time in Dawson Creek. Opening a facility is like no other experience. I will miss the friends I have made and the staff.?

Prior to joining the EnCana Events Center, MacIvor was Tourism Development Coordinator for Tourism Dawson Creek, a subsidiary organization of the Northern Rockies Alaska Highway Tourism Association (NRAHTA). He received a degree from the University of Northern British Columbia and calls Dawson Creek Home with Wife Allison Crandall.
