Grads Reach For the Stars and the Moon

As you walk down the usually quiet halls of Claude Galibois Centre, a flurry of activity was taking place near the end of the hallway. An open door revealed fabric pieces, scissors, glue and cutouts scattered about. Grad Committee!

Among the decoupage of craft supplies were young people, potential grads, snipping and gluing, stapling and chatting. Some came with parents and it is good to see that rebellious conversation is alive and well in Tumbler Ridge.

This year?s theme, Stars and Moon, came from a catalogue known cryptically as ?The Grad Book?. Containing many themes across the board, this one appealed to the group this year. Some supplies were ordered from the US based company and whatever they could find locally, the grads have purchased here.

Awards Day for the grads, which includes awarding of scholarships, takes place at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on June 28th, 1 pm at the school. The grad ceremony; dinner and dance take place in the Curling Rink at Community Centre on June 29th. Congratulations Grads 2006!
