Stand Together Returning to Grizfest
?IT?S ALL FOR THE LOVE OF THE MUSIC!?
Stand Together had it?s start way back in 1984. Vince Curley and Rob Kelly started the band in Hudson?s Hope BC. Their aim was to play the local clubs and dances. Original music was a big part of the repertoire from the beginning.
In 1986-87 Vince and Rob were touring western Canada from Victoria BC to Winnepeg MN. They played in Rex Barnett and South Pass and The Wicked River Band.
In 1986 Dale Stebbe filled in on the drums and eventually joined the band full time in 1991 with Dan Eastman. 1991 also saw the band do Music ?91 as Ragged Glory, sharing the stage with the likes of Dwight Yoakam and Ian Tyson. This year included a studio stint at Moberly Sound where a demo of fine original music was produced.
After years in the early 90?s where Vince was playing hot guitar in the Kootenays, Ragged Glory re-formed and continued to write original music.
In 2003, Randy Godsman joined the group. 2003 also saw the group play at Grizfest for the first time. Winning People?s Choice Award as favorite group gave the impetus to return to the studio. The band has currently finished recording their first CD in Grande Prairie AB with James Oldenburg. The CD is an eclectic mix of music styles ranging from country to rock to pop and a touch of folk.
