As part of the ?Meet the Museum? day on January 27th, Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation (TERM) palaeontologists Lisa Buckley and Rich McRae will be delivering presentations bringing the public up to date with the latest dinosaur discoveries. TERM President Charles Helm will also briefly summarize the Museum Foundation?s achievements and goals, and the opportunities this project provides for the Peace Region.

Lisa Buckley will give her first talk at 1-30. This half hour presentation on Tumbler Ridge Dinosaurs is aimed mostly at kids and their families. It will have been preceded in the morning by dinosaur activities for kids from 10-30 till noon, and will be immediately followed by the Rock and Fossil Road Show.

The evening presentations begin at 7 pm. Buckley will deliver a second presentation on the history of the Tumbler Ridge dinosaur discoveries, followed by an address by Rich McRae which will focus specifically on the Kaka dinosaur mega-trackside. This remarkable site in Kaka Provincial Park was brought to the attention of BC Parks a few years ago. At the request of BC Parks the Tumbler Ridge palaeontologists have spent the past two summers conducting the first research there, in remote and challenging alpine terrain (a near-vertical rock surface at over 8000 ft elevation). This will be the first presentation to the public on this unique and fascinating site.

All presentations are in the Tumbler Ridge Public Library. There will be three door prizes, and there is no admission fee.
