Hello North Snow Report

Dawson Creek has no new snow. There is 47 cm of base on the snowmobile trails, the trails are hard packed and in good condition. Use caution and be aware of the seismic activity in the area.

The cross- country ski trails have 42cm of base, the trails are in good condition. Track has been groomed to minimize icy areas.

Bear Mountain ski hill is open, and in good condition. Some runs are showing signs of wear. For more info check out: tourismdawsoncreek.com.

Tumbler Ridge hasn?t had snow in the past few weeks. Sledding conditions are as follows; Backmeadows is EXCELLENT, Bullmoose is VERY GOOD, Quintette/ Roman Mountain, Core Lodge, and Mt Speiker are GOOD, Super Bowl, the Dawson Creek Trail, and the Tumbler Ridge Town Site are OKAY. Watch for running water in some creeks.

Cross country skiing conditions at the golf course, and creeks are good and off trail skiing is ok.

Fort St. John hasn?t received new snow. The snowmobile trails are in good condition. No groomed trails at this time, are you interested in purchasing a groomer? Call Dwayne at 787-5300. Drag races have been rescheduled for March 7th.

Peace Reach Adventures has 15cm of new powder for heli skiing in the Clearwater area. Snow stability is good in the treed runs. In alpine areas with windblown areas, snowpack is weak. For more info check out; peacereachheliski.com.

Fort Nelson has no new snow. Snowmobile conditions are good. Drag races are scheduled for Feb. 29.

Mackenzie has received 8 inches of fresh snow up top Murrays Range, Old Friend, Powder King, and Morphee Mountain. A trail has been groomed from Mackenzie to the top of Morfee Mountain. There is 4 inches of fresh snow in Mackenzie, with a fair base. Mild temperatures are creating sticky snow at lower elevations, and wind blown areas are reported on mountain ranges. The Powder King area-is now on the Canadian Avalanche Association website at avalanche.ca. Drag races are scheduled for Feb 22.

Whispering Pines Ski Area in Worsley, Alberta is reporting excellent conditions with 50 cm of settled snow. The hill is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For up to date weather info call 866-685-3965 or check out skiworsley.com
