For those folks out there who enjoy playing a few rounds on the greens there is an opportunity to play in the sunrise golf tournament happening at the TR golf course on August 4.
Kim Wylie from the golf course explains, “We have the Sunrise Tournament coming up. It’s a shotgun start (where each team starts on a different hole and rotates around)”
The fun begins at 8 a.m.
Each team will consist of four players who play on a ‘best ball’ format.
Wylie says, “That’s where all players tee off. They choose which shot is best and everyone plays their next ball from that location and so on. It’s a fun way to enjoy a round of golf with friends without the pressure as everyone has good shots, bad shots and lost forever in the woods shots. It’s a great format of play especially for beginners.”
The tournament also includes brunch after the nine holes, prizes and a long drive competition on hole nine.
The cost is $25 for members and $40 for non-members.
The tournament should be finished just in time to catch the Walking Shadows play Sunday afternoon at Grizfest.
To register your team of four, you can call the Pro Shop at the golf course, but you don’t need a full team to register.
Wylie says, “If you’re new to town we can put you in a team.”
If you would like to get some practice in before the big tournament. Everyone is always welcome to head onto the greens Monday nights for Men’s night and Tuesday nights for Ladies night.
The men’s and ladies open tournaments will be coming up on August 17 and 18.
