July Fire Report

Fire Chief Matt Treit

The month of July saw the TRFD respond to 17 calls, which included nine First Responder calls, three reports of fire, two motor vehicle incidents, two reports of ringing fire alarms, and one report of an activated carbon monoxide detector. Training in the month of July included auto-extrication, initial attack, second storey rescue, and ventilation.

Congratulations to Firefighters Dell, Arnaly, and Probationary Firefighter Trudeau who all achieved 100 percent attendance at training sessions in July.  Extra training in the area of emergency vehicle driving was also completed by four members (Deputy Vandale, Captain Curry, and Firefighters Beale and Ross) of the TRFD this past month.

By the time you are reading this, the Firefighters will have completed their annual Boot Drive to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. The firefighters would like to thank everyone who took time this past weekend to donate money for this very worthy cause. There will be another fundraising event involving the Fire Department taking place on September seventh. This is a Fire Truck Pull, and it is being organized by the United Way. More information will be provided about the event once we are closer to that date.

The TRFD accepted three new recruits this past month and we would like to welcome aboard Travis Trudeau, Eliza Brodie and Adam Hall, and we wish them the best with our organization. The TRFD would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Josh Arnaly who completed his probation with the TRFD and is now a full member of the department. Congratulations Josh and we hope that you remain with the fire department for many years to come.

As a result of our continued precipitation, the wildfire danger continues to fluctuate between low and moderate at this time. However, if you are out in the back country, still continue to exercise caution when using a campfire, and always ensure that the fire is supervised when you are using it and completely out when it is no longer being supervised.
