LaPrairie Crane receives recognition from the District

Mayor Mike Caisley presented Clifford LaPrairie (founder of LaPrairie Crane), with a plaque which recognized the company?s dedication to the community in a ceremony on August 3rd, held at the Skate Park. Councillors White, Hunter, Colledge and Town Hall staff were among the 50 people attending the ceremony.

Councillor Hunter commented that ?LaPrairie kept their commitment to the town even when industry was slow. We are recognizing their commitment to the community with this plaque.?

Earlier, in July, Public Works Crews planted 28 trees in the open lawn area next to the skateboard park.The donation marked the 25th anniversary of the company.

To date, LaPrairie Crane has donated a total of 58 trees in the community.

Mayor Caisley commented that the LaPrairie?s are ?Super residents and super investors in Tumbler Ridge.? He added that the company has also contributed greatly to other projects within the community such as the Aquatic Centre, Golf Course, Minor Hockey, Little Theatre, and Grizfest to name a few.

Roachelle LaPrairie, Controller of LaPrairie Crane, commented that the turn out for the event was good, ?considering that most of the people here are LaPrairies!? she joked.
