The Coal Forum became the stage to recognize Leo Sabulsky as an outstanding member of the Peace Region and Canada. Sabulsky was recognized by MLA Blair Lekstrom. Lekstrom said, “This year we are celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, her 60 years as the Head of the Commonwealth. As part of that, we have the opportunity to recognize people from across the country, who have gone above and beyond to make their communities, regions, provinces and their country a better place. It’s rare that you get to present something on behalf of the Queen herself. Today, I am honoured to be here and recognizing an individual I have known for the better part of 20 years, maybe longer. There wasn’t a time when I’ve met with him that he wasn’t enthusiastic and upbeat. He always thinks of other people and his community. I am honoured to give him the recognition he deserves. Please congratulate Leo Sabulsky.”
