Dear sir or madam,
I owe you and your family a sincere apology for threatening you.
It was never my intention to create such an awkward and uncomfortable situation. I hope that I can correct my mistake and resolve this matter.
While I have caused this unpleasant experience, I am able to see where I went wrong. My being intoxicated contributed greatly to the matter of events. I believe that realizing my mistake will allow me to learn and grow and prevent similar issues in the future.
Again, I apologize for my rude and obnoxious behavior. Please accept my apology.
Dave (last name withheld)
