Letter to the Editor

To whom it may concern:

I am a grade seven student at Tumbler Ridge Senior Secondary, and I am worried about my future here in Tumbler Ridge. I would like to know if TR will still have any trees left by the time I turn 16. On Tuesday, March 29, 2007 my mother and I went to take my dog for a run down on the airport road, but what we saw shocked us. We knew there had been some clear cutting around the airport, but I would have never imagined what my mother and I saw. There were quite a lot of trees missing from the area. My mother would also like to know what is going on. For some clean cutting means no camping, no hunting, no beauty, and less oxygen. In school and outside of school we hear of things like this happening, but no one expects it to happen to us, but I guess it did. Anyway my question is why would anyone want to cut down our forests?
