So often we hear negative comments about youth these days that I thought it would be uplifting to pass on a short story about some thoughtful young people.

About a week ago, two 10-year-old girls, Donnie Carpenter and Kristen Blum, appeared at the emergency department nursing station with a number of get-well cards they had made accompanied by some ornamental flowers they had purchased with their own money.

Their idea was to repay kindness extended to members of their families by reaching out to someone who was ill and in need of some cheering up. They requested that the nurses decide who might benefit from this service and give the cards and flowers out accordingly.

It is important to note that this project was self-motivated by these exceptional young ladies who thought it would be a good idea to ?pass it on?.
