Dear Mayor and Council

I am writing to you in regards to some of your community members I met during the Winter Games. As the Volunteer Chair for Sports, I was able to be involved almost from the beginning. I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people; I was also privileged to take a small part in each venue of sports. I tell you this because as you can imagine I have met many people this past year and over the last weekend.

The ones that stand above the rest are those from your Community; our billets.

I wanted to take a moment of your time to let you know how well they represented your community. We know them as the ?ICE DOGS?; they are your Pee Wee Hockey team from the 2005 Northern BC Winter Games. No matter the outcome of the games they played, they entered and exited the ice as gentlemen. Sportsmanship was always shown through losses and wins; outstanding athletes to say the least.

These gentlemen came into our home as strangers and left as friends. I would not hesitate to have any one of them in our home or community. So in short you have every reason to be proud of your Pee Wee Hockey Team; players, coaches, trainer and manager alike. Not only did they represent you well they set the bar high for others to follow. I congratulate them on their accomplishments as a team and for always learning something in losses.

In closing I hope you will take the time to congratulate them on a job well done and let them know they truly are leaders in their sport, their show of sportsmanship and as community representatives.

Sincerely, Shaely Endicott
