Brenda Banham was honored by the Northern Lights Realty Board on February 4th with the Silver Award for outstanding realtor in the Peace Region (the Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge area). There are 30 realtors in the Board area, with Donna Cooper from Dawson Creek receiving the Gold, and Al Mottishaw receiving the Bronze.
Banham began her real estate career with Dawson Creek Realty in 2003. She also holds the distinction of being the first realtor in Tumbler Ridge. Prior to 2003, community housing was owned almost entirely by the two mines, with private ownership at about 25 homes. With the mine closure and the housing sale, a need for a realtor became apparent. Today, with two new realtor offices opening in Tumbler Ridge, the future for the community looks brighter than ever.
