Ryan and Eva LaPrairie have always been into music. Ryan started playing drums when he was six years old. Eva spent many hours singing Karaoke. Derek Wilson played keyboard in a band before joining Ryan & Eva. Kevin Gordon started playing when he was 14 because he was inspired by Ryan.
Messenger was born in the summer of 2005 when Dan Gillis, Eva?s guitar instructor agreed to play in her band for the Canada Day Celebrations and the band lacked a lead guitar player. Ryan plays the drums and writes songs, Dan plays lead guitar, Derek plays bass, and Eva is on vocals and also writes songs. In the fall of 2006, Dan left for college and Messenger took a break. Fred Minville, who just arrived from Montreal and worked at the music store where Ryan worked, took over as drummer and Ryan became the songwriter & lead guitarist, Kevin played rhythm guitar. The band has two sounds, one of heavy metal and a softer pop rock side.
Messenger?s music is geared toward all ages. The original music is deeply emotional about normal experiences that people go through every day in life. Messenger just recorded their first CD and will be available to purchase soon.
